Acacia Support Service Port Hedland offers high quality support for females and males, 13 years and over, who have been affected by sexual assault or sexual abuse.
Acacia’s vision is to promote ZERO – TOLERANCE toward sexual assault and abuse in the Port Hedland community by working alongside emergency services and educating and informing members of the community about the support service.
Acacia attends to crisis calls that come from local emergency departments including Port and South Hedland Police Stations, Hedland Victims Support and Hedland Health Campus. When a survivor of sexual assault/abuse engages with these three departments, they will be informed of the crisis service Acacia provides and they will be able to receive support from a crisis support worker, either in person or over the phone. Clients can receive this support throughout the police interviewing, forensic examinations and court processes.
Acacia also provides counselling during office hours to those who have experienced sexual assault and sexual abuse in the past.
