Do you live in Mandurah or Pinjarra? Do you need help to strengthen your relationship with your child?

Contrary to popular belief, we don’t always know automatically what to do as a parent. Join other dads of children aged up to 15 years to build skills to assist your child to be positive, flexible and assertive. Research has shown that being a warm and supportive, involved and engaged father impacts positively on your child’s mental wellbeing.

How can we help you?

The 4Dads program offers information, education, referrals and support for fathers of children up to 18 years in the Mandurah and Pinjarra areas.

  • Dads Supporting Dads: An open drop-in group where fathers can chat about taking care of themselves and their family over a relaxed BBQ.
  • Workshops: We offer workshops for fathers on a range of topics, including ‘Tuning into Teens’ and ‘Child-Focused Tools’.
  • Dads Information and Referral Service: One-on-one support to assist fathers to navigate the various resources available to them for their personal growth and parenting abilities.

You can also book a Dads one-on-one session on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays at no cost. Located at 21 George Street, Mandurah. Call 61640619 or email 4families.mandurah@relationshipswa.org.au

Tuning into Teens

Raising teenagers is a challenge!

This is FREE six session parenting program for parents of 10 to 16 year olds. (Mums are welcome)

Would you like to learn how to:

  • be better at talking with your teen?
  • be better at understanding your teen?
  • help your teen learn to manage their emotions?
  • help to prevent behaviour problems in your teen?
  • teach your teen to deal with conflict?

Tuning in to Teens shows you how to help your teen develop emotional intelligence. Teenagers with higher emotional intelligence:

  • have greater success with making and keeping friends
  • have better concentration at school
  • are more able to calm down when upset or angry
  • tend to have fewer illnesses

Emotional intelligence may be a better predictor of academic and career success than IQ!

Time: 6.30 - 8.30pm

When: Thursdays 27 Feb, 5, 12, 19, 26 Mar, 2 Apr

Where: Relationships Australia - 21 George St, Mandurah

No cost, please call 6164 0619 to register.
