If you experienced sexual abuse as a child (under 18) in places such as schools, sports clubs, foster care, religious organisations or other institutions and you are thinking about applying to the National Redress Scheme, we are here to support you every step of the way.
How we can help
We understand the process can feel overwhelming, but you are not alone. Here is how we can support you: 
Explain the process in clear, simple terms so you know what to expect 
Help prepare your application and guide you through it step-by-step 
Talk to the National Redress Scheme on your behalf if needed 
Offer trauma-informed counselling to support you emotionally 
Connect you with other services like legal advice or extra support 
Be there with you face-to-face, online or over the phone—whatever works best for you. 
What is the National Redress Scheme?
The National Redress Scheme acknowledges the harm caused by child sexual abuse in institutions and offers: 
A maximum payment of up to $150,000 
Counselling and psychological support 
A Direct Personal Response, such as an apology from the institution, if you choose to receive one 
Who is eligible?
To apply for the National Redress Scheme, you must meet the following criteria: 
The abuse occurred before 1 July 2018 
You were under 18 years old at the time 
You were born before 30 June 2010 
You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident 
The institution responsible for the abuse is part of the Scheme 
We can assist you to work out if your circumstances meet these requirements.

This is a free service.
