Relationships Australia recognises the wide diversity in human relationships and respects equally all types of relationships. We are committed to social justice, inclusion, and respecting the rights of all people in their diversity.
We support the right of the LGBTQIA+ community and their families to have a sense of belonging and connection, to live with safety and dignity and to enjoy healthy relationships.
All of our services are available to LGBTQIA+ individuals and we provide a safe, supportive environment for couples and individuals to work on their relationship concerns as well as their own personal issues.
LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples often have similar issues to everyone, but significant exceptions are the prejudice, marginalisation, bullying, and lack of acceptance, including emotional and physical abuse, experienced by many in the community. These difficult challenges often began in childhood or adolescence and can play a major role in adult interpersonal struggles in one-on-one or in couple relationships.
Our LGBTQIA+ counsellors and educators are highly skilled and experienced in working with these very sensitive issues, and from their own experiences can identify and help with these concerns. They provide a safe, supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ couples and individuals to work on their relationship concerns as well as their own personal issues.
We are open at all times to any feedback that can be given by members of the LGBTQIA+ community to improve our services.
