Relationships Australia WA is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people by providing child-friendly environments where they feel safe and are safe.

Relationships Australia WA ensures children and young people are listened to regarding decisions affecting their lives. We are committed to creating a child-safe organisational culture with comprehensive screening. Our staff manage and respond to situational risks through;

  • Treating children and young people as individuals with rights
  • Ensuring disclosure will be treated seriously and acted upon
  • Ensuring all our staff are empowered and confident to raise concerns
  • Not tolerating any inappropriate behaviour
  • Monitoring environments
  • Training all staff in child abuse including grooming.

Relationships Australia WA is committed to ensuring the cultural safety of children and young people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those with a disability and those who identify as LGBTQIA+.
