Partnering with Act Belong Commit

Relationships Australia WA is excited to announce our partnership with Act Belong Commit.

As a leading provider of relationships support and mental health services in Western Australia, we are proud to work alongside Act Belong Commit to encourage people to take action to improve and protect their mental health.

Good mental health is not just about avoiding mental illness, it is about mental wellness. Staying active, connecting with others and doing something meaningful provide the foundations for mental wellbeing, which is what the Act Belong Commit message is all about. Relationships Australia WA is committed to mental wellness in our workplace and in the community.

What is Act-Belong-Commit?

Act Belong Commit is Australia’s longest-running mental health promotion campaign run by Mentally Healthy WA from within Curtin University’s School of Population Health.

It is an evidence-based health promotion campaign designed to encourage people to take action to improve and protect their mental health and wellbeing.

How can you Act-Belong-Commit to stay mentally healthy?

Being active, having a sense of belonging and a purpose in life all contribute to good mental health. What matters most is putting these three words into action.

Act – do something. Keep active in as many ways as you can mentally, physically, socially, spiritually, culturally. Go for a walk, say hello, read a book, meditate or pray.

Belong – do something with someone. Keep connected to friends, family and community. Join a book club, join a sports team, take a cooking class, go to community events.

Commit – do something meaningful. Carry out something meaningful, important and valuable to you. Volunteer, learn something new, take on a challenge, take up a cause, help a neighbour.
