Course Summary

Couples with children from previous relationships may need strategies on communication, agreement on discipline, and handling competing demands. How about ensuring time just for each other? That matters too. This six week course will provide strategies to assist parents in a stepfamily.

  • $80 per person
  • $130 per couple
  • Concession fees available

The six-week course covers:

  • stepfamily structure and complexity
  • the normal stepfamily stages of development 
  • parents’ roles and challenges in the step family, and the need to establish positive biological and step-parent roles
  • common emotional experiences and difficulties for children in stepfamilies
  • nurturing the couple bond and development of conflict resolution skills particular to the step family experience
  • passing on values in today's technological world
  • the building of new step family
