Course Summary

Raising children should be one of life’s greatest experiences, but as any parent knows, it is not an easy task. Parenting doesn't come with a guidebook but research suggests strong links between the quality of the parent-child relationship and a child's well-being. This practical 4 week course will help parents understand their child's development and behaviour and give you some tools so you can parent with confidence and enjoy your kids.

Topics in this four week course include:

  • developmental needs of children
  • the importance of parenting to healthy brain development
  • different parenting styles and approaches
  • the need for clear boundaries,rules and consequences
  • children's emotional development and reasoning abilities
  • understanding behaviour patterns and communication
  • the importance of developing a child's positive self-identity
  • how to develop a respectful, caring and trusting relationship with your child

This course is appropriate for parents of children up to the age of 10 years.
