Neighbour Day - 20 Year Anniversary

Neighbour Day: Sunday 27 March 2022.

This year Relationships Australia is celebrating 20 years of Neighbour Day. Help us celebrate and build the communities we want to live in.

Research shows that communities where people know each other have better mental health, are safer, and are more resilient. Connecting with people outside of your family and friends is important for tackling Australia’s loneliness crisis.

Are you planning or attending a Neighbour Day event in your community? Let us know!

Loneliness can affect anyone, at any time throughout their lives, and addressing loneliness across Australia is everybody’s business. Let’s work together to shift the tide and help create the Australia we all want to live in, brimming with respectful relationships and connected communities.

Neighbour Day provides the perfect opportunity for people to increase social connection in their local areas. You can celebrate in a variety of ways including hosting or supporting events, or by taking simple neighbourly actions that assist and engage your communities. The Neighbour Day website has lots of information and free resources to help you do that.

Check out our new national Neighbour Day website by clicking here. You can register your event online, find new ways to celebrate (including virtually) and browse the digital downloads.

Together with Relationships Australia and Neighbour Day, every Australian can play an important role in building sustainable social connections and respectful relationships in our communities.

Every body. Every where. Every Day. Neighbour Day.
