RAWA was part of more than 145 organisations that gathered to provide information to visitors on the range of services, programs, activities and products available to seniors and carers.

It was the 10th annual seniors expo hosted by the City of Rockingham, which has grown into one of the biggest seniors events in the City, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Kwinana manager Bill Robinson said it was fantastic to be part of an event that helped connect elderly people and prevent them from being isolated in their home or care. The team at the RAWA stall spoke to between 300 – 400 people who stopped by to ask about our services and take home some of our pens and stress balls.

“We spoke with people who had used or knew people who had used the Royal Commission/Redress service and the Find and Connect service,” said Bill.

“A few people also picked up information on our separation services, mostly to pass on to their children who were going through or recovering from a relationship separation.

“It was also fantastic to spend some time looking at other stalls and making connections for future cooperation.”

City of Rockingham Mayor Samuels said the annual event plays an important role in highlighting the significant contribution seniors have made to our society.

“It gives our older residents, and their carers, the opportunity to learn about the wide range of services that are available,” he said
