Djinda wins NAIDOC award

Congratulations to Djinda Service, the winner of the NAIDOC Perth 2018 Program of the Year Award! 

The Program of the Year award was open to not-for-profit organisations that deliver quality programs to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and is based in the Perth metropolitan area. Congratulations to all the winners and runners up on the night.

Djinda Service work alongside the Women's Law Centre to provide free support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children in the Perth metropolitan area affected by family violence and/or sexual assault. To find out more about this program please visit their service page here.

Djinda is a Noongar word meaning ‘star’. The stars represent the women who guide their families, shine brightly, survive against the odds and are strong in their determination to keep their families safe.

The NAIDOC Perth Awards 2018 recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations and businesses who have made a significant contribution to the community and include the categories of Outstanding Achievement, Sportsperson of the Year, Education Achievement of the Year, Carer of the Year, Business of the Year, Elder of the Year (Male and Female), Youth of the Year, Artist of the Year, Community Person of the Year and Program of the Year.
