Client Information & Confidentiality

I understand that all information kept on files is confidential with the following exceptions:

• a court may subpoena files;
• information may be provided to an Independent Children’s Lawyer (ICL) appointed by the court;
• the Service may supply reports with prior written notice and for a charge;

Duty of care requires us to notify the other parent and the relevant authorities (e.g., the police or child welfare) to ensure safety when there is:

• a threat to not comply with the Court order or agreement
• a threat to harm anyone
• suspected or actual abuse of a child
